“The Events Calendar” looks great so far. Thank you.

Sadly I’ve hit a snag with the Timezone. No matter what I do, the new event is defaulting to UTC+0. My WordPress=>Setting=>General is set to UTC+8 because WP does not have any suitable geographic timezone for Perth in Western Australia. (Perth has pop of nearly 2 million but we are not big enough to warrant a geographic timezone in WP). All of our events will be based on UTC+8 so I’d like to get a default of UTC+8 on new events. I’ve followed all of your instructions and watched your videos for newbees several times to find a solution but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Hi @dccharron, thanks for reaching out to us.

That’s not good. Let me help you further. Out of the box we recommend the location-based timezones as it is more accurate.

Could you try switching to a location-based timezone and see if that makes a difference? See the article here to learn more → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/working-with-time-zones/.

Let me know how it goes. Have a great weekend.

    Best,
    Abz

Resolved. I changed my timezone. This time I found a suitable “geographic” location (I discovered that WordPress does indeed have one for Perth in Western Australia – my bad). All working now.
