• As the title said; I dont know why ; when i tried to register a free blog on wordpress.com then it did appear right; but when i host to my server then it doesnt appears right anymore.

I’ve checked the encoding ; it was UTF-8 ; i even tried to change all the fonts in the CSS (default) to Arial ( which can display Vietnamese the best).

Can you guys tell me what did i do wrong? Btw, im still using English lang ; but i though it should be fine; cause on the free blog on wordpress.com ; im using English also; but it can show the Vietnamese (UTF-8) ..

Please help ; thank you very much.

  • If you have a blog at wordpress.COM you should ask your questions there: https://wordpress.com/forums
    (we are the www.ads-software.com people)

The think the poster is saying that it worked fine for them in wp.com but not when they moved to their own host.

    I myself don’t have a clue.

Sorry, I should read more carefully…

Do you have problems in the posts or in the templates?

    hi; thanks for replies.

My problem is: when i installed WP on my host ; it didnt show the UTF-8 (Vietnamese) correctly. I tried to create a new account at https://www.wordpress.com and it did show the UTF-8(Vietnamese) correctly.

I’ve checked all my templates as well as the encode for site. But both are the same; because we are using the same template (default template).

So i though about my host; but at my site; im using CMS, Forum which have Rich Editors also; but all the sites show the language correctly. I checked the server environment as well, and it did support UTF-8 as default.

Im kinda new to WP so i dont know where should i ask for help. Sorry if i make you confuse.

Please help me if you can.

    Thanks a lot

OK, leave out wordpress.com – it has nothing to do with your blog. Let’s focus on the important things…

If utf-8 is working with other scripts that’s good.
Is your database also supporting utf-8?

Questions you did NOT answer yet:
    – WHERE do you have the problem: in posts or in templates?
New question: are you copying the posts from a wordprocessor into WP?

    Hi;

1- Yes my database supports UTF-8 ; since all other parts of my sites are using UTF-8 in order to use Vietnamese
2- In post; when i tried to post a new blog. Ive tried many templates but same results.
3- I tried to copy from my site, on web or even tried to type but same results.

    Thanks

Copy/paste is bad. Don’t try it.

If the settings are correct it should work. Maybe a link to a post that has bad code would help.

and also got this error when add comment

WordPress database error: [Illegal mix of collations (utf8_unicode_ci,IMPLICIT) and (latin1_swedish_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '=']
    SELECT comment_ID FROM wp_comments WHERE comment_post_ID = '1' AND ( comment_author = 'xxxx' OR comment_author_email = '[email protected]' ) AND comment_content = '??t chung h? thua tr?i chung' LIMIT 1

For sure there is something wrong with your setup. I suspect you were tinkering with core files… (check for a blank space at the beginning of wp-db.php file!)

(I took that “comment_content” line from above and copied into a comment form on a test install of mine – and it displays perfectly.)

    (@micxuy)

well this is the 3rd ive installed it but the same result; cant display correctly ; i dont know why….

I didnt do anything to the core files. Only edit the config file.
