Utilizing “Paragraph” field type — Character limits, and duplicate text.

When I use the Paragraph field type I’m finding that I’m limited in the number of characters I can use in the paragraph — Resulting in closer to a sentence worth of space. Then, I’m finding that the paragraph copy is appearing on the page twice — Once in bold and then directly beneath in regular text.
