I run WordPress 4.3.1 using the Santino photography template at https://th-photo.net and the last few versions of Yoast SEO have made it unable for me to upload photos using the Dashboard > Galleries > Edit. The spot where photos are supposed to go is simply blank. Photos do however stay on my site and in the media library.

I’m fortunate enough to have narrowed the issue down to the Yoast SEO plugin. When deactivated I’m able to upload and modify my galleries.

In my case I have an error:

“Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘value’ of null” in wp-seo-post-scraper-302.min.js?ver=3.0.3

@weaztek, could you please check the browser’s console for JavaScript errors when you visit Dashboard > Galleries > Edit?

If you see an error, please click the arrow at the beginning to expand it. Please report the full error here.

Thanks for your quick feedback. Could you please manually install this version of Yoast SEO to check if that solves the problem for you.

I’m looking forward to your feedback!

I’d rather not remove the existing version (3.0.3) because I believe I’ve entered keyword and SEO terms previously and don’t want to lose the data. A workaround I’ve found is to disable Yoast before I need to upload photos and turn it back on once the images are uploaded.

I have the same issue here, my gallery uploader is hidden when YOAST is activated, each time I have to disable the Yoast and change my gallery and then reactivate YOAST. I am hopping for a quick help.

@tacoverdo I also manually uploaded the plugin from the link you provide and emptied the cache. Still facing the same issue.

Here is my update to the issue. By going to SEO-> Titles & Metas -> Post Types and check the Hide box next to the Yoast SEO Meta Box for Gallery and PixProof you can fix the issue for now until the new update from YOAST.

Thanks APWebmaster, checking the box worked. I didn’t see PixProof anywhere, but the Gallery one worked!

Thankyou very much! My “Add Media” button wasn’t working, and through the browser console, I tracked it down to your SEO plugin. This solution worked for me too, I checked the box next to Media and Products.

Same problem here. The plugin was causing a problem with the “Slideshow” post type of The7.3 theme. I did what APWebmaster pointed out to solve the issue.

@weaztek, you can remove Yoast SEO without losing any of your settings, although the preferred way to install the test version is to upload it via FTP by overwriting the existing plugin folder.

I installed Yoast 3.0.4 and unticked the checkbox discussed above and everything works again.

    Thanks for the fast fix!
