    Hi there,

First of all, thanks a lot for this plugin. I’ve been using it for years and it’s always worked flawlessly.

However, V1.8 just released doesn’t seem to work for me. When installed, I can’t enable maintenance mode or save any settings, the “save” button has no effect and seems to expect me to enter a new contact for a key.

If I revert to V1.7, all goes back to normal and works fine.

Not sure if it’s just me or if anyone else experiences this.

I’m still on WordPress 5.9.3 in case it matters, hosted on Cloudways. The site also uses WP-Rocket (Cache disabled for admins) and Redis Pro, in case it matters.

Thanks for looking into this, the new feature to add the current IP address seems very nice ??

    Hi @manni02

Sorry about that – it was working fine when I ran my final tests, and now I can confirm it’s gone awry!

I’ll have a look at it again in the next couple of days, but in the meantime everyone should avoid updating, or if you have, revert back to 1.7 – you can download it here https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/jf3-maintenance-mode.1.7.zip and then go to Plugins > Add New and click on the Upload Plugin button.

    Hi Peter,

No worries, these things happen, that’s why I keep an archive of previous versions for each plugin, so I can revert back easily if necessary!

Keep up the good work, and thanks again for taking the time to maintain this great plugin ??

    Hi @manni02

    Fixed it ??

The problem was caused by a tiny little change that I made just before submitting the update that I honestly never would have thought would be an issue, and was The reason why it put the focus in the email address field.

I had changed the input type on the email field from “text” to “email” (thinking that makes things nicer on iOS as it changes the keyboard to include the “@” and “.com” buttons). But, what I didn’t realise is that it also makes the browser try to validate the field for a proper email address and thus prevent submission because there’s no email and therefore the field is not valid.

    D’oh!

    Peter

Thanks for the quick fix and the explanation. I installed 1.8.1 and can confirm that all is working fine ??

    Keep up the good work!
