Depends on the theme: with a premium theme I’ve got something from bbpress, with a standard WP theme I’ve got 404…

OK, the plugin is tested on BuddyPress Default Theme and so it’s likely that there would be some kinks with other themes. It would help if you could avail a link to a copy of your theme so I test and fix.

Would say there is no more BuddyPress Default Theme since v1.9

I was not able to activate the new version and had to delete it via ftp – but based on WP 3.5.2 and BP 1.7.3

Just tried with the latest versions of WP and BP what is working…

I have tested on WordPress 3.5.2 with BuddyPress 1.7.3 using the Twenty Twelve theme and it works flawlessly.
