v2.1.3 – can’t add catagories & visual editor unusable

  • For the past month, I haven’t been able to use the visual editor. I can add a title, but it won’t let me type anything in the body. At the bottom of the screen is says “Error on page.”

    Also, I haven’t been able to add any new catagories, weather through the post editor or manage/catagories. I can type a new catagory, submit, it disappears, nothing happens, no error.

    I have a PC with XP. My server is GoDaddy. I even upgraded to 2.1.3 and same problem.

    I also uninstalled everything, erased all my webspace, installed a clean version of 2.1.3 and the same problem.

    I also cannot delete any posts. It disappears in the admin screen, but doesn’t actually remove it. No errors.

    I have been able to import data, but can’t delete any posts. I have no themes and plugins deactivated (nothing new added).

    I was trying search the forum, but haven’t found anything, but I’m sure I must not be the only one.

    I’d appreciate any help. Thank you.

    I was having these problems too and I used two plugins to get around them:

    Category Manager, to create categories:
    bidibule.be/wordpress/ [moderated link as site not available MH]

    Text Control, to override the formatting in the editor (I set it to “no formatting” and code all my posts by hand; and I unchecked “Use visual editor” in my user profile):

    I was also unable to delete posts but that problem just went away.
