    Hello,
I tried to switch to V4, and now in Analytics I have 2 sites. One with UA and on with V4, both with reports of traffic. Less traffic on UA and more on V4.

Is this normal? I thought there will be only one, the old one.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @dandr69,

Thanks for getting in touch. When you mention V4 I assume you’re referring to Google Analytics 4 (GA4)? If so, then it’s normal that Site Kit will connect your site with both a Universal Type Analytics property (UA) and also a Google Analytics4 (GA4) property. We have more information on this on the plugin website below:

    https://sitekit.withgoogle.com/documentation/using-site-kit/ga4/

Having both a UA and a GA4 snippet doesn’t impact reporting for each, with both properties working independently of each other. With regards the differences in metrics, if you’re comparing the Site Kit dashboards “All users” metric (which comes from your UA property’s “Total Users” metric from?analytics.google.com) it’s normal that this may not match the GA4 data for the “Users” metric, from?analytics.google.com. The “Users” metric which is highlighted here refers to?“Active Users”, which can differ from the “Total Users” metric, depending on how frequently your users return to your website. To summarize, GA4 highlights your “Active Users” whereas UA highlights the “Total Users“.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

Users per minute seems to look fine, in line with older figures. But if you check Users Today, the numbers seem wrong reported. Time on site suddenly went from 4 minutes to 0.5 minutes, also weird.

Thanks for the update @dandr69. The numbers you’re seeing within the Site Kit dashboard (which display the Universal Type Analytics property data) should match what you see from analytics.google.com for the same Universal Type property.

If you’re finding unusual differences for the same metric between Site Kit and the data for the same Universal Analytics property please check that you’re looking at the same reporting period. What you can do is click on the link within Site Kit to be directed to a more detailed summary.

If the data you’re reporting isn’t matching between your GA4 and UA properties, you can reach out to the product experts over at the Analytics Help Center.

Even in Site Kit, it looks like traffic stopped yesterday. When I changed to GA4.

It is connected to GA4, but it does not show traffic.

    Hi @dandr69,

If you’re encountering a drop in traffic unfortunately we’re limited to assistance with Site Kit. I did check your site manually and using the tagassistant.google.com service just now. I can see that both a Universal Type Analytics property and a Google Analytics 4 property are working as expected.

For queries related to a drop in traffic you can reach out in the Analytics Help Center for assistance.
