Not only this version is a global disaster but we can’t even manage jobs!
First, you’ll need at least 4 clicks to reach the existing ones when a single one was enough in previous version but NOTHING IS SELECTABLE!!! Cannot select a job in the list for bulk actions as there is no checkbox and then none of the options of the job can be selected, not even type the name of the job, nothing happens.

    Hi,

I understand your frustration, and I’d like to clarify a few things.

    • Managing Jobs in v5: The “Add New Job” option is being phased out, as the new system now provides two default jobs—Files Backup and Database Backup—which you can enable/disable, select storage, and schedule or run manually.
    • Job Selection & Bulk Actions: Since job creation is no longer needed, bulk actions for jobs are not available. However, we understand this change may feel restrictive, and we’re gathering feedback on usability concerns.

If your previous setup isn’t working as expected and you’re open to trying a fresh install, that might help avoid migration issues. If the issue persists, please share more details, and we’ll be happy to look into it.

    Best Regards,

All this sounds like a joke. Unfortunately you seem to be serious.

Just to be sure I understand correctly before I move elsewhere:

Do you clearly mean that I can NOT edit existing jobs anymore and that I cannot create any new jobs other than the templates you provide AND you cannot have a backup that includes both files and DB and that I need to follow the nonsense of your default templates and run 2 different jobs for the same result I was getting previously with a single job?

    Hi,

Yes, in BackWPUp v5, existing jobs cannot be edited, and new jobs cannot be created. The update introduces a simplified backup process, ensuring backups are easier to manage while reducing complexity and potential misconfigurations.

Instead of manually creating jobs, users now have two default jobs—Files Backup and Database Backup—which run separately to provide a more structured and predictable backup flow.

    Best regards.

You really found the best way to kill an excellent plugin, congrats.
