Validating but not stopping form submitting

First of all, thanks for making a free plugin that has this functionality. I would think that if a user entered an incorrectly formatted email (eg. contains two periods next to each other) that as well as showing the red validation, the plugin would stop the form submitting. I understand when there is an email suggestion, the form should still submit.

Can this be achieved?
