Vanishing menu — so weird!

  • The menu on my home page disappears when I scroll down and then scroll all the way up again. Strangely, none of the other pages do that. It just started doing this when I switched my default page from the standard blog post page over to the static front page. I had to delete the front-page.php file because it was overriding the default and displaying the theme’s page (Shop Isle). Once I did that, I ended up with this problem.

    Completely stumped. I’d appreciate any help. Here’s the link:

    To rule out ant theme/plugin conflict, try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
    – If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    OK, thanks. I’ll give it a try. It just seems strange to me that it started doing this the moment I switched my default from blog to static.

    BTW, when I switch the default back to blog posts, the problem goes away.

    You mean when switch to the default theme the problem goes away?

    If so, try updating your theme.

    If the problem still remains, I recommend asking at https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/shop-isle so the theme’s developers and support community can help you with this.

    No, when I switch the site’s default page from blog to static, that’s when this happens.

    The menu appears stable in Twenty-Seventeen.

    This means some issue with your theme.

    Please identify exactly which theme you are using and then post in that theme’s dedicated forum via its page in the Theme Repository.
