    Hi MC team,

Almost all of our products are variable. They have a parent product with a price, for example: Name of Wine = $10 which has variations “1 Bottle Pack” = $10, “6 Bottle Pack” = $55, “12-Bottle Pack” = $100. Pretty standard stuff.

I’ve setup a “Product Recommendation” section in a Mailchimp email and it’s showing a price range for each product, but the larger price is missing, such as “$10 – $”.

I’d love to show only the parent product price (not the range), which is what we do on our own site… but I’d be happy for any solution to this that doesn’t make it look broken.

This is how it looks in the MC preview and email preview, btw:

I’ve tried the block in both the new and classic MC editor and it shows the same result.

Anything you can think of? Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for contacting us! Although not really an issue with the plugin, I want to still help you out. You can customize product data in Mailchimp – within the email editor:

    • Manually edit the product details within Mailchimp to reflect the desired price.
      • After inserting a Product Recommendation block into your email layout, you can edit the product details, including the price, directly in Mailchimp.
      • To do this, click on the Product content block in your email, and in the Content tab, you can modify the product title, description, image, price, and button text as needed. Double click on the price and you will be able to change the price in the block. Voila!

Hi @kjvextras, thanks for jumping in here!

When you say “you can modify the product title, description, image, price, and button text as needed,” I see how to do that with a simple “Product” block, but I’m not seeing how that’s possible for a “Product Recommendations” block. I’m trying in both the new and classic editor. Actually how could it be possible if the point of the block is to show products based on a customer’s purchase history? (so it needs to be dynamic)

I’m not sure if my issue is more with the Mailchimp app itself or the plugin… I think it’s some combination. Again, our site isn’t doing anything crazy with WooCommerce, just basic variable products with pricing. I’ve already reached out to MC support directly and their only recommendation was to make non-variable products ??.

    Hi @enfueggo

My apologies – You are right. I reached out to a contact at MC and it is a confirmed bug on the MC side. They have the issue documented and will hopefully deploy a fix soon, but I was not given a date. Perhaps a workaround for now (which you mentioned)?

Perhaps a workaround for now (which you mentioned)?

    What does that mean?

Anyway… one of the primary reasons we moved to Mailchimp was for automated emails like this with product recommendations—which I’ve now discovered TWO bugs for, and wasted countless hours on. I’ll likely be far away from Mailchimp long before these bugs are fixed.

But that’s certainly not your fault, KJ! Thanks for looking into this and trying to help ??

Sure thing – Sorry we couldn’t help you out on this. RE the workaround, you mentioned MC recommended, “to make non-variable products,” not ideal, but an option.
