Variable product attributes selection = Spam form submission denied

  • On WP Cerber > Antispam and bot detection settings I enabled “Protect all forms on the website with bot detection engine”

    As a consequence, on the single product page, when a customer selects a specific product variation (by selecting specific attributes of that variable product like color, size, material etc) Cerber considers this as a spam submission:
    – “Spam form submission denied Bot detected”,
    – “IP blocked Multiple suspicious activities were detected”,
    – “Form submission denied IP address is locked out”,

    so on the single product page the price of the selected variation will not be displayed so the selected variation can not be added to the cart.
    And of course the IP of that customer is blocked. Great user experience!

    Is this exaggerated protective behavior an intended feature or is it a bug?

    It’s “exaggerated protective behavior” (false positive) caused by a conflict with another plugin. Please add this line to the “Query whitelist” in the Antispam settings.
