I am using variable products on my website. I have 5 attributes on the products, but only one of them affects pricing. Do I need to generate 50+ variations (combination of all of the attributes) and assign a price on each of these? Because this is going to be a nightmare for the admins to manage if this is the case…

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • You could try a plugin like PPOM custom fields – I have used it on a number of sites for variables.

We do that all the time – for example if a size has a different price but the colour doesn’t affect it:

    Any Colour – Size: Small
    Any Colour – Size: Medium
    Any Colour – Size: Large

That way, even is there are 50 colours you only need 3 variations!

This won’t work if you have to do inventory on the variations though.

Thank you for the replies. I checked out PPOM, and it seems like a good workaround, will try this in another project perhaps. For now I am using https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woo-bulk-editor/ which also makes editing this a lot simpler using filters.

    Hi there,

Glad to hear there was a good workaround here ?? I will go ahead and close this thread.
