• Hi Frank ??
I tried contacting you last week and haven’t heard from you, so I’m trying again. ??

    Couple of things:
    1. the variables are not converting on the results page as well as in emails. It just shows up as %QUESTIONS_ANSWERS%

    2. How to create a survey instead of a quiz

    3. I’m looking for a customization where a student can answer questions (for example, in large text boxes) where their answers will remain visible and editable when they re-visit the question page. The homework is just for their own benefit and their answers might change over time. Can you help create this?

    Thanks Frank!

  • Greetings Carl:

Thank you for choosing to use this plugin! I am sorry that I did not see your email. We are in the process of switching our email hosting provider and are experiencing some issues.

Is it just the question and answer variable that is not converting or all of them?

For the survey, you can simply change the grading system to not graded and use whatever question types you need. Take a look at our sample survey.

As for your student answers idea, will they be going to other pages and/or closing their browser and resuming later?

    Hey Frank ??
    No worries …

I’m not sure about which variables … I only tested the one … and in both the results page and the emails sent out, you see the plain variable.

Let me know if you need log in info … and how to get that to you.

The student answers: I’d like have each test or survey be saved and able to be seen by the student at any time in the future, whether they logout, use a different browser, etc. The course access is controlled using Digital Access Pass … the student will always have to be logged in to access their stuff. Now, in SOME cases, we may want the student to be able to re-answer some/part of the questions and have their latest answers saved or overwrite over their original answer (not sure yet though).

An example of how I’m visualizing this is:

(on a particular page for a particular “course module” they would see something like:

    1. Here’s the first question … bla bla …
[large text box where they can answer, as well as see it in the future whenever they come back to this page]

    2. Here’s question 2 … bla bla …
    [large text box}

    3. Here’s another question …
    [multiple choice answers]

This is just an arbitrary example.

Thanks again Frank … I’ll wait to hear from you!

    Greetings Again Carl:

For the variables, can you try copying and pasting from the template variables into your email and results pages box? Try adding several variables so we can diagnose the type of error. Also, for the results page, can you try it once by adding the variables to the Visual tab and another time adding the variables into the Text tab?

As for the saving of the progress, that is currently not a capability of the plugin. I can send you a quote of what I would charge to create such a capability if you are interested in that direction.

If not, I can add that capability to the list of requested features; however, I do not have a time frame as to when I would get to that point in the list as the list is quite long.

Strange … all the variables are working now … go figure!

Please do let me know what it would take to have the homework viewable whenever the student returns to their homework page. I don’t think she has much of a budget though. Hopefully, the task wouldn’t be too difficult?

    Thanks!

    Hi Frank ??
Oops … I missed your message … sorry!

    YES let’s do it.

Can you get me your email so I can email you directly instead of through www.ads-software.com?

I have a few things I’m thinking might be good in saving their homework … I’ll email them to you and other details when I hear from you.

    Thanks man!
