    Hello,

I’m new to Woocommerce, so forgive me if this is a stupid question.
My products need “variations” but the number of combinations are way to high to be do-able.
For example: I have a hoodie in 35 colors in 7 sizes and the print can be choosen out of 12 colors.
    So 35x7x12 = 2940 combinations.

But I want to change price for:
hoodie-colors (else than black or white + extra fee of € 2,50)
print-colors (else than black or white + extra fee of € 2,50)

Also I want to use the stock for black and white hoodies, as I have them always in our warehouse. The other colors should then be “out of stock, but can be ordered”.

For the stock I only need hoodie-color and size.

    Thx in advance.

  • Hi @returnedx,

First, there are no stupid questions. Second, we can definitely update the prices but it may take some work on your part, just not as much as you’re fearing. We can bulk update the prices for ALL variations of your product but then you will need to manually update those where the prices differ from the standard.

To start, please go to your product edit screen. Open the Variations tab for the product. Under the “Default Form Values:” section you should see a dropdown box that says either “Add variation” with a “Go” button and the number of variations next to that. If you open that dropdown you’ll find a section that says “Pricing” and an option for “Set Regular Pricing”. Chose that option and click “Go”. A pop up will appear at the top of your screen asking for input. Just add your regular price for ALL variations there. As I mentioned, the only way to adjust the prices from here for those few variations that differ is to find them and manually edit the price. But that means you’re only hand pricing 630 variations instead of 2940.

Stock management will also need to be done from the Variations tab since this won’t be managed at the product level for black and white hoodies. You could double your efforts when adjusting the prices for those 630 variations since stock management also applies to some of them.

When you are working in a black or white variation click the “Manage stock?” checkbox just below the SKU and variation image. This adds the “Stock quantity” textbox and “Allow backorders?” dropdown to the form, below the price settings. Add the stock quantity for that variation only. You should be able to leave the stock settings for the other variations as-is without issue.

Hope all of this helps. Take care!
