Variations dont work unless I edit product and click save!!

  • Hello I have a woocommerce store with thousands of products, today we realised product variations are not working, the drop downs contain no options to select.

    I read through loads of forums dealing with theme override issues (we dont have ANY overrides in our theme).

    Javascript issues, confirmed we dont have any.

    And product sttings issues, again confirmed we have everything setup correctly (was working before).

    Anyway I just figured out if I click edit and then click “attributes” and then without editing anything click “save attributes” they come back!!

    I cant do this for all these products one by one ?? any ideas how I can fix this across the whole database??

    Regardless of whether you have overrides, I’d do a quick test with 2012 theme or similar just to rule that out.

    The other thing it could be is malformed or missing data, but I would need an export (XML) of the products and variations, and the ID of an affected product to confirm.
