Variations for Affliates

    I was surprised that variations are not available for products defined as Affiliate. This seems fundametal to me and something I need for my site. I also think the Amazon Affiliate importer by Nxtal which uses the Chrome extension Advance Importer should in turn be compatible with variations for affiliate products.

    Since this functionality doesn’t appear to exist currently in the latest version of woocommerce 8.1.1, I’d like to know if there is an alternative method that can be used?

    I need to be able to import Amazon products as variations and have the woocommerce product be updated automatically with my Amazon affiliate id and ensure the ‘buy’ button is the amazon link with affiliate tag.

    I understand you are looking to create variations for affiliate products imported from Amazon. At the moment, as you pointed out, variations are typically not available for affiliate products in WooCommerce. This is because variations usually involve unique URLs, which isn’t feasible for affiliate products with a single affiliate link. External sites like Amazon control these details.

    If you need variations for your affiliate products, you would often need to manage them manually within the product description or use a third-party solution that offers more advanced affiliate product management features. A workaround such as multiple Simple Products would also work. Set each variation as its own product.

    Regarding the Amazon Affiliate importer, as it is a third-party plugin, we don’t have direct control over its compatibility with WooCommerce. However, we recommend reaching out to their support for more information on this.

    Regarding automatic updates of the affiliate ID and ‘buy’ button, you might need a specialized plugin or custom development to add that functionality.
