Variations not working

    I can’t seem to get variations to work on my products. They were working in draft mode, but then I changed the wording on the global attributes/slugs and published the products. I am using the Virtue theme and I don’t have that many plugins going–there are no js errors. I also changed the Virtue shop settings to leave the galleries alone and it didn’t help.

    Am I setting this up correctly?

  • It looks like you have made only one variation for the product, so selection of that variation is automatic.

    On the variations tab, ensure you have set up a variation for each attribute. Select “Add variation” in the dropdown at the top of the tab to set up each one individually, or “Create variations from all attributes” to set them all up in one go.

    I do have them both set up in the same way. The second one just isn’t captured in the screenshot.

    Could you do a screenshot of the 12M variation on the variation tab, the one that’s not showing on the product page

    The setup looks good.

    Upon further investigation, the size select drop-down is there in the page, but we can’t see it because its opacity is set to 0 (= invisible). To make it show up, try this custom css:

    .woocommerce-ordering select,
div.product form.cart .variations td.product_value select {
  opacity: 1 !important;
}

    Custom CSS can be entered at:
    Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS

    Why this should be necessary I don’t know. Virtue is a mature theme and its normally well-behaved. You could ask on the Virtue support board if you want the know why. The Virtue techs are normally responsive.

    I am experimenting a similar problem, but I am not even able to see the variations tab in the product page admin.So I created a product, then created an attibute (size) and added S, M, L… Now in the product page, I added the attribute size to the rpoduct, but the variables tab is not showing. I tried a few solutions I saw online but I can’t find the right on. Do you know why this may be happening?

    Please confirm that you have selected the variable product type in the product data metabox product type dropdown. It defaults to simple product.
