  • Hey there, @lucytech! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

There’s two ways of adding SKU to variable products.

If you want all variations to have the same SKU, you can add it to the Inventory section.

But, as I understand, what you want it for each variation to have its own SKU, correct? Then you need to add it on each variation.

Don’t forget to save the changes ??

I hope this was clarifying. If you face any issues or have any questions, please let us know so we can assist you further.

    Have a wonderful day!

Can I add the sku to each variable AND add it as here https://snipboard.io/S923JE.jpg or is that incorrect?

If I do then it shows up in the search but I don’t want the setting to be wrong.

How else can I include the variable sku’s in the search?

    Hello there @lucytech,

Yes, you can add the SKU to each variable product as shown in your screenshot.

To include variable SKU’s in the search, you may need to use a third-party plugin like Advanced Woo Search to enhance the default search. Please feel free to try it out and let us know how it goes.

    Cheers!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

So I’m going to add all the skus separated with a | in the inventory section of variable products in addition to adding it to each variable.

What does Woocommerce do with the information in the inventory section now? Will it know to look at each variable product for the individual skus?

    Hi @lucytech,

For variable products you can keep the inventory tab clean and manage the stock, SKUs and all the inventory details for the individual variations. Yes, WooCommerce will know to look for each individual variable for their SKUs!

    Cheers!
