various file permissions issues

  • Hi all.

    I’m experiencing a load of issues. I’m setting up a site for a friend that uses https://www.virtualnames.co.uk as host.

    Whatever I do (upload images, install plugins & themes from the admin panel, edit theme templates etc.) I experience issues with having to manually make files writeable.

    Also when adding themes and plugins I need to type in host, username and password everytime. And I still get an error saying that I don’t have sufficient permissions to do this.

    I’m pretty frustrated about this since I’ve set up multiple wordpress sites on other hosts with practically no issues. Any help is deeply appreciated.

    Assign 755 recursive permissions to wp-content directory on your blog with the help of your web hosting service provider.

    Also reset the upload path from wordperss admin area.
