To VAT, or not to VAT, that is the question.

We always show prices including VAT in our B2C shop.

So, in emails, the “Price” column is indeed including VAT.
Same goes for subtotal and totals (Total also show the amount of VAT)

Now, what happens if you have 100% discounted product(s) ?
Because of that 100% discount on the product, its VAT will be zero. Logical.

But this is a problem for customers. Because the “Price” column will now show a price excluding VAT. (not technically, it’s still correctly calculating the price including VAT, but as the VAT is now equal to zero… we have a problem)

The customer will receive an order confirmation, with prices very different than the ones he saw in his cart/checkout. Cart and checkout are much detailed, so the customer can see the amount of discount and understand what is happening. Not in the email.

As it is logical accounting wise, it is not very clear to the customer.
Maybe something should be done in those emails ?
