    Hi,

I have lost EU VAT field in the checkout. It just doesn’t print the code. (checked page’s code too, to see if it is not covered by anything)
I’ve checked debug mode, and it actually checks IP of current user.

I don’t know when it happened. Right now Woo 3.6.5 and 3.8 doesn’t work.
Custom Woo template for checkout are not overriding anything.

    Any idea ?

The IP address doesn’t affect the display of the field. If it’s not appearing, it could be that the field was hidden in the plugin settings, or something (custom code, theme, plugin) is altering the list of the field to be displayed at checkout.

The easiest way to verify if there is a conflict is to go by exclusion. You can disable all plugins, except WooCommerce and the EU VAT Assistant, and switch to a basic theme, and the issue should disappear. If it does, you can then enable the plugins one by one, until the issue appears again. That will give you some indication on which elements are triggering it, and give you a lead to a solution.

    Hi,

I just went through that routine.

Looks like EU VAT vield doesn’t show up once you use WooCommerce Checkout Field Editor Pro. And it worked few months ago ok.

Any chance You can guys check it? It is quite popular plugin, which easilly extends checkout forms.

We aren’t aware of conflicts with the Checkout Field Editor Pro plugin. That plugin is used to add or modify the fields displayed at checkout, many of our customers use it.

From our side, we are using a standard WooCommerce filter to add the checkout fields, and we follow the official guidelines. The CFEP plugin should not remove fields added by other plugins, unless specifically configured to do so.

If the CFEP plugin is indeed configured to hide or remove the vat number field, that would also explain why it used to work before. Perhaps a setting was changed inadvertently, causing the VAT number field not to appear anymore. I would recommend checking its settings to see if that could be the case.

If the settings are correct, and the CFEP plugin still removes the field added by the EU VAT Assistant, then I would recommend contacting the Checkout Fields plugin’s authors. They should be able to check the reason for the “unexpected removal”.

    Hi Diego,

It was the old version of checkout form editor plugin. Which did not display any update notice ??

    So all is fixed now.

    Cheers
