    Hello,

    I have already contacted the support team of TaxCould but I haven’t received an answer yet.

    A few weeks ago we noticed that there have been a few orders coming through our webshop and the final amount was not correct. The VAT taxes had been applied twice.

    We started the troubleshooting on this on a staging environment and after deactivating all the plugins, and we changed our theme to a default one (Twenty nineteen) the plugin that was causing this issue was Simple Sales Tax.

    To give you a better idea of what is happening here is an example:

    When you add a product in the cart that costs 10 euros, and the VAT on this product is 10%, the final amount displayed on the cart is 10+1=11 euros.

    When you move to the checkout page though, you can see one extra field added by Simple Sales Tax (Sales Tax) that calculates the taxes for the different states. Let’s say we choose a European country for our example, the sales tax shows zero (0) which is correct but the final amount show 12 euros which is wrong! So the conclusion is that the VAT taxes have been applied twice on this step. When I deactivate Simple Sales Tax I can immediately see the correct amount (11 euro) again.

    Hello,

    What plugin/service are you using to calculate VAT? I would like to explore why it is conflicting with SST and try to fix this issue for you.

    Hello there and thank you very much for your prompt response.

    We use the default Woocommerce Tax Service.

    Is there a way to give you access to a staging environment so you can investigate this further?

    Hi Manos,

    Are you using WooCommerce Services Taxes (https://woocommerce.com/products/tax/) or are you just entering VAT rates in your WooCommerce tax rate tables? Simple Sales Tax is not intended to be used alongside other tax calculation services, so if you’re using WooCommerce Services I’d explore whether you can use that for U.S. sales tax as well.

    Hi Brett,

    We do not use any other plugin to calculate the taxes. We just entering the VAT rates in our WooCommerce tax rate tables.
    Sorry for the misunderstanding. It was not clear the way I wrote it above.

    As I told you I could create a staging environment for you, where you could investigate this issue further.

    Hi Manos,

    This should be fixed in Simple Sales Tax 6.0.14. Please note that you may need to clear your cached tax rates under WooCommerce > Status > Tools in order to see the effects of my changes.

    Please feel free to re-open this thread if you still have problems after updating.
