VAT on courier but not postage

    Hi, under Tax / Standard Rates there is a tick box for Shipping, in order to add tax to the shipping cost. We need to add VAT on courier delivery only, not standard shipping. How can we do this please?

    For example: courier delivery to Jersey needs VAT, but standard postage to Jersey does not need VAT…

    Hi there,

    A great deal depends on which shipping method you’re using and whether that shipping method allows for it to be set as taxable / non-taxable.

    If we’re using Flat Rate shipping as an example, that’ll look as follows:

    In short, if you’re using a plugin to calculate the delivery rates, you’ll want to get in touch with the developers of that plugin to check on tax rates.

    Thanks, sorry for delay ..
    We’re using WPS (Weight Based Shipping) and I can’t see where you’d specify tax regions/zones for shipping … Will post a question there and see what they say.
