    Take the following cart:

    1 x CHF 219.00
    + 1 x CHF 189.00
    + 2 x CHF 2’458.00
= Subtotal: CHF 2’866.00 excl. VAT
    + Shipping: CHF 12.00
= Total: CHF 2’878 excl. VAT

So the exact VAT amount is CHF 221.606. WooCommerce calculates it as CHF 221.60 – but when I activate your plug-in, the resulting VAT is CHF 221.55!

To me it looks like there’s something going wrong here.

  • Hello @martinsauter

We have checked your example. WooCommerce calculates the taxes as per as the cart line items – the purchased products, and shipping is also a line item. This is a quick summary of the tax calculation breakdown for your cart items, of course we assume the tax rate is 7.7%.

    Tax calculation without this plugin:
    16.86
    14.55
    189.27
    0.92
    Total 221.60

Tax calculation with this plugin installed,
    16.85
    14.55
    189.25
    0.90
    Total: 221.55

It is a coincidence that the tax amount for combination of your cart items is a round figure with 5 cents rounding. Last but not least since WooCommerce handles the tax calculation as per the line items, there can always be a possibility of 5 cent differences in a rounded total of several items.
