Vauge Error message "Sorry there was a problem, please try again later"

I got a message “Sorry there was a problem, please try again later” and, well, I’m not clear on what that indicates. Can anyone shed some light on this? Is this a common error message for anything or does it indicate some specific incorrect setting? Any info would be helpful, thank you for the help!
