I read some of the other topics about the vcard images not working on some devices for various reasons. I made two vcards and one showed the image just fine while the other one didn’t. When I downloaded the vcard files and opened them in sublimetext, the one where the vcard showed the image showed quite a lot of coding next to “PHOTO;ENCODING=b;TYPE=JPEG:” while the one that didn’t show any image, simply didn’t even have the “PHOTO;” line in the vcard file – seeming to imply that the photo didn’t save in any way to the vcard file at all.

I was only able to get the vcard file to effectively save the image to work properly once. All other attempts result in a vcard file that doesn’t have any “PHOTO;” line.

I tried downloading the image that worked and reuploading it to see if it had something to do with the file type or size but the reuploaded image didn’t work either.

Is this a glitch? Or something on my end?

Thank you for your prompt reply. I was able to replicate the issue. So it’s important for the the image to be a 300×300 JPG and presumably smaller. I Thought it had to do with the file size but it seems like the size/dimensions is what matters most. I was able to upload images of that size and it works just fine.

This is probably an issue a lot of people may have. You could write in the notes that it requires a specific size to work properly. However, I’m wondering if it’s possible to make it so that the MeCard plugin uses thumbnail version of any uploaded image instead of the full version. With wordpress, you know that every time you upload an image, it makes multiple different sizes of it, including “thumbnail” size which can be set to 300×300. If the plugin can simply pull the thumbnail version of any picture, there would be no need to upload pictures of a certain size – it would just pull the correct size from any uploaded image. Does that make sense? And is this possible?

Great plugin! Works fantastically! And I think this solution might work for everyone else experiencing an issue where sometimes photos work and sometimes they don’t.

First of all – thanks for your research!

I checked on my WP sites and i can download vcf with images much more greater than 300×300

But! I think no sense to set so big images in vcf file, so i will made changes to reduce image size to 300 at bigger side.

Plugin update deployed, I added new thumb for photo but unfortunately WP do not create it for exists images (only for new)
so if you need thumb for exists img please use any regeterate thumb plugin or re-upload image
