• When I use the “search cars” widget from a static page- (mysite.com/inventory)- I only get car listings. The sidebar disappears. However, when I click on a listing to view the vehicle details, the sidebar will reappear on that page. How can I keep the Vehicle Detail Sidebar displayed in the search results?

    Hi Rrisen,

The vehicle detail widget was designed to show on only the vehicle detail page. The search result page should use the same sidebar that your normal blog search page uses. This does depend on your theme.

If that’s not working correctly let me know what theme you’re using and I’ll do what I can to help you get the issue resolved.

Yes the search results page is set up correctly. I can perform a search with the search bar and the Vehicle Detail Sidebar will appear, but not with the search cars widget. My theme is Blue Diamond – by goodlayers.

    Hi Rrisen,

Since it’s a commercial theme I can’t download it to test the issue. I don’t suppose you’d set me up with a temporary login to your site so I can check it out? I hate asking but without access to the theme I can’t isolate the issue. My email address is TheVeryFirstPerson AT Gmail.com

Alternatively you could try asking the theme developer for support, they might have some insight into what is causing the issue.

The first option would be quite awesome actually! I’ve made you an account as an editor. Will that be sufficient? I’m not sure if you recognized, but I was also the one who requested the RV version of Car Demon. In which case, I will likely need further help down the road. You should get an email with account info. If not, email me at brandon AT mellottbrothers.com
Thank you so much Jay, I’ve haven’t seen support like this anywhere else on a free plugin for WordPress.

    Hey Rrisen,

I logged in, but as an editor I can’t get to the Appearance menu or the widgets. I also ran into one other tiny bump, I can’t right click in your site to inspect elements. I assume that’s something you added to keep people from downloading elements. Is there any chance you can turn that feature off for the moment and give me temporary admin rights?

On a side note, I really dig that theme, especially the slideshow on the front, looks really good.

    take care,

Wow, I don’t think I got an email that notified me of your response. Sorry about that. And yes, no problem. I enabled right click and made you admin. There are a couple other things that are causing issues that you’ll probably see while working with the site. Feel free to edit and fix anything that clearly isn’t working correctly. Thank you so much, Jay!
