• Hi,

When a vendor wants to add a new product on his dashboard, it is difficult to select the proper “product categories or subcategories” specially when the marketplace has hundreds or thousands of categories.

Can you make the categories easier to display and list on the new product page in a category tree format?

I found under “Dashboard Setting” > Disable Category Checklist

I unchecked it.. It make the Main Categories as a Drop Down with an arrow. However, the subcategories don’t have an expansion option.

For example add a (+) to expand or collapse the subcategories and to select the child subcategories for 2nd level, 3rd, etc.

    Thanks

  • You might be able to simplify things by adjusting the Categories available to your vendors. In Store Settings -> Product Type Categories you can just make certain categories available.

We’ve found that not allowing our vendors to create categories on their own keeps things more organized. We admins create categories (in Woo -> Products -> Categories) and make them available as choices to our vendors. You can turn off a vendor’s ability to create cat’s in Capabilities.

We also set a limit in Capabilities -> Limits -> Product Cat. Limits

    Good luck

Thank you for your suggestion. I will consider the idea about just making certain categories available in Store Settings -> Product Type Categories. I haven’t considered that before.

    WCFM suggested the following:

Kindly install our category hierarchy plugin for this – drive.google.com/file/d/1zC_u-mdrLCJGv_j1LKgK0UuG7HCxeLOx/view?usp=share_link

The plugin they suggested can only select 1 category. In the future, they will work on the multiple-category selection part.
