    Good day,

I need some advice how to have the following functionality on my multi-vendor marketplace website..

I would like to restrict where customers purchase products from based on the vendor.
e.g. Vendor x has their products shown on the entire site, but is only allowed to sell to India. If a customer adds one of their products to the cart and tries to select for it to be shipped to USA it will show an error “This vendor only sells products in India”.

I am not so specific if the error message doesnt show like that, but basically I want to restrict this vendor to only be able to sell to a specific country.
If this can work also using product “categories” then that is fine

Importantly, I do not want this to be by-product, it needs to be either by-vendor or by-category. I also do not want the vendor to be able to control this or see anything on their dashboard. I needs to be a completely administrator controlled thing in the WP-ADMIN backend

NOTE: I also have the DHL Express Commerce plugin installed, which quotes live rates as soon as anyone enters a location. So this functionality needs to override that.

    Thanks, PicFlick

This forum is specifically for support for the WooCommerce core plugin. I’d recommend reaching out to the support for your Multi Vendor Marketplace plugin for help with this.

    Hi @amanda,
Thanks for the reply. Could you help with something else
I need to hide the ‘add to cart’ if a certain value has been selected from a drop down box/select element.e
e.g. the drop down name = “drop down1” and the value is “x”. If the user selects ‘x’ from the drop down then I need the add to cart button to disappear. Please can you advise (small snippet of customer code)
    Thanks!

This is a fairly complex development topic.

I can recommend the WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal for resources on developing for WooCommerce.

You can also visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, as well.
