Venue address changes on save

  • Apologies if this has been addressed; I wasn’t able to find any relevant threads.

    When entering an address for some venues, it is changed (presumably by Google maps API) to a different, albeit nearby address. More frequently, the specific street address is changed (for example: “123 Main Street” becomes “100-250 Main Street”).

    I appreciate that in terms of actual geolocation, the inserted addresses may be more accurate, however I often need to provide a very specific street address for users to enter into their GPS navigation systems.

    I’ve tried mapping the addresses in Google maps and using the respective LAT/LON values… Doing so populates a proper map, however I STILL can not enter my desired text into the address field without it being changed on save.

    Any suggestions?

    Here’s a current example:

    Required address: 2140 North 33rd St. Philadelphia, PA
    (although the address appears in the drop-down box, once selected it immediately changes to: “3300-3398 Diamond Dr”).

    Hi!

    As far as I know this is a limitation of the new API. Google now will only accept a search query for your address, not the exact coordinates, that’s why it may not work for you.

    We are indeed checking alternative solutions for a more reliable (free) maps option, but for now we are tied to google’s rules
