Verfication required on email change

For first time registration, users are required to verify email by clicking on the link sent by email. Subsequent email changes however have on verification. Is this something that could be done with extra code? Is there an option I missed? Is this a feature planned for future realeases? Thanks for any pointers and for a great plugin!
