I have Wordfence installed on my WordPress site. I have an app that I need help with so I created a user account for the company’s tech support to be able to log in with. They’re complaining that they can’t log in because they’re getting a “verification required” error. They say they are getting an email from the system which apparently is to allow them to verify by clicking a link; however, there is no link to click on in the email. Can anyone please help?

Hi @snarf555, thanks for your question.

Are you using reCAPTCHA on your login pages? Any “Verification Required” messages and emails are related to the message Google will send back when the user fails to be confirmed as human by reCAPTCHA checks.

We don’t receive information from Google about why a human may sometimes receive a low enough score to always require verification. Generally, a “reCAPTCHA human/bot threshold score” setting in Wordfence > Login Security > Settings of at least 0.7 should allow most humans through on your site without having to verify every time. You could try reducing it to see if it helps here, though.

You could temporarily try disabling reCAPTCHA while the user is having trouble if you need them to immediately have access. However, as a more long-term solution, I’m puzzled that they wouldn’t receive a link. Do you think you’d be able to get a copy of the email to make available for us?

    Thanks,
    Peter.
