  • Same issue over here, if anyone needs a videoclip of this it’s down below. This was all done within incognito mode.

    Url: https://somup.com/cYeuo21DLc
    Password: SiteKit

Can someone please look into this issue? This plugin works fine WHEN it does, but this issue is killing me!

Tried everything at https://sitekit.withgoogle.com/documentation/fix-common-issues/ but this doesn’t seem to fix the issue.

Due to lockdown, I doubt this forum will get any replies anytime soon. I am going to try another plugin for using google ads and get rid of this one.

@atmaarten Thanks for the screencast, very useful. Are you using the Brave browser? If so I believe this browser has a built in ad blocker, which may interfere with setup. Please let me know if you’re able to proceed with setup using a Chrome browser while incognito.

@jamesosborne Didn’t work as well, i think the problem lies within the account. Is there any way i can contact you further about this problem in private, so i can maybe share some login details for you to check it out even further?

As i ain’t the only one with the problem, and we would love to get this issue fixed. ??

EDIT: To go further on my assumption that the issue lies within the account, i can connect my own Google account with SiteKit. However not the Google account i used in the video. I’ve multiple customers who cannot connect to SiteKit with their account and all experience the same proceed button looping.

@atmaarten Sure, you can use this form to send over your details. I’m positive we can figure out what’s going on.

If you can share your Site Health information that would be useful, as there are additional Site Kit specific details placed here in newer versions of the plugin. This would assist us in troubleshooting this case for you.

@gdhar Were you able to get connected successfully? I can see you have the AdSense snippet placed via Site Kit on your site. If not please share your Site Health information and we can troubleshoot further.

@atmaarten Thanks for providing the info, I will discuss this with the team and report back to you. I can update you in your support topic, I’ll hopefully have an update for you at some stage today or tomorrow.

I have the exact same problem. Have you found the cause and fix for this problem?

@boei Can you please open a new support topic as per forum guidelines and we would be happy to assist from there.

Please add as much information to your support topic such as your URL, plugins used or your Site Health Information. You’ll also find some troubleshooting steps on the plugins website.

    Hey James
Yes the verification went thru. I fixed it by going to my Google’s connected services > removing permissions > redoing the whole process.

@gdhar Many thanks for the update. Can you confirm it was Search Console where you removed all the positions before attempting setup?

@gdhar Many thanks for the update. Glad you were able to resolve it.

Thanks @gdhar, this fixed it for me as well! @jamesosborne maybe you can implement this in the support?

@boei Thanks for the update, and certainly, thanks for the suggestion. We can suggest this to users where possible. With Site Kit installed we’ve added some information to a users Site Health information which helps us determine the exact problem areas during setup, with the fix you applied possibly working for others.
