• Hi there,

I just have a question about recaptcha and I hope you’ll be able to assist me.

I recently enabled recaptcha v3 on 6 websites, and three of them say it’s been set up correctly while the other 3 say that I need to “Finish setting up your key: Request scores. To fully protect your site or app, finish setting up your key. Your key is requesting tokens (executes), but isn’t requesting scores (assessments).”

I set up all the websites the same way by entering in the site and secret keys and I’ve been reading the Google Cloud resources but I can’t make heads or tails of it as I don’t know json. I’m hoping you’ll be able to assist me here as I’m not sure why some of the websites aren’t set up correctly with v3 while the others are…

Thanks very much for your time!

Hi @wpgiveth, thanks for your detailed message.

I’d not seen this error message before associated with Wordfence but after a little looking around I have now seen it mentioned on Google’s public support boards and with a couple of other WordPress plugins that also integrate reCAPTCHA v3 in a similar way we do. One suggested solution was to remove the problematic keys and generate some fresh ones for the sites encountering the problem. Have you already tried that?

As you’ve managed to set 3 of the sites up, I wouldn’t suggest that you’re doing something incorrect at the site but of course make sure the site URLs are associated with the keys in Google and they’re pasted in full into Wordfence.

If the error persists in Google rather than in the Login Security Settings, you may need to reach out to their support as we shouldn’t be throwing any errors in their direction and judging by the fact I’ve seen it mentioned in other scenarios, it might be related to your account.

Let us know what you find out,
    Peter.
