• This is probably really straight forward, but sadly the people who write instructions are prisoners of their own knowledge and therefore struggle to communicate basics for folk like myself.

I’m trying to verify the site ownership in google using Yoast SEO. I’ve downloaded the code and a little thing pops onto the bottom bar. When I click this, I can see that there is a file in a list of files with a google logo attached to it. I’m sure this is the download? I can see that there is a code too. The next instruction simply says “Upload the file to https://www.faraway-fairways.com/”

The question I’ve got is a simple one. How? I wish people could give instruction by asking and answering the how? question. Telling people like myself what to do by process is of limited use. I don’t know how to upload this file. Where do I look for it? what shape or colour are the buttons (not what function they perform) what words do I need to look for in any menus etc that kind of thing please

I suppose the supplementary question is, is it necessary to verify ownership with google, as I’m not terribly optimistic anything is going to work here

    Many thanks
