    Hi there,

I just upgraded to version 1.3.0 and I’m experiencing some errors in the backend. I keep getting 505 errors when I try to edit the courses and I also don’t see any of the instructor system stuff that was added in the update.

    Hi @evatb,

About the error, is it happening few times or every times when you are editing the course in the backend. How can we exactly replicate this issue? We are trying to replicate it but not able to so. Everything seems to be fine when we test.

    About the instructor system:
If you want to register instructor in your site, here’s what you need to do.

    • Create a new page say ‘Instructor registration’.
    • Then add the shortcode [masteriyo_instructor_registration] in that page.

This will create the instructor registration page. More info can be found here in the Masteriyo LMS doc, please check the title Instructor Registration Shortcode.

In the backend, you need to go to Masteriyo -> Users -> Instructors tab. All the users that wanted to register as Instructor will be listed there. You will need to click on them one by one and approve them.

Once the user is registered and approved as instructor they can create the courses on their own by logging in (yoursiteurl/wp-admin/).

Let me know if you have any confusion on this.

    Thanks.

    Hi there!

I didn’t notice the Instructors tab before, thank you for pointing it out! I’ll dive into that shortly.

As for the error, I am seeing it a lot. I just tried to edit my course settings and I had to reload the back-end 5 times to finally get in there, so it’s making working with the plugin a little difficult.

We made some tests from our side but still could not pinpoint any such issues. Is there any other information that could help us track the exact cause that you can provide? Also, you are logged as ‘administrator’ role right?

I’m logged in and working on the same course as yesterday. On the same laptop and same browser as well. the only thin that’s changed is that I installed the update. There probably is a lot of other information I could give you but without context I’m not sure what you’d need from me ??

Okay, here’s what you can try.

Please go to Plugins menu in your dashboard, then please deactivate the Masteriyo LMS plugin and then reactive it. Sometimes, this could fix the issue.

After trying above, if you are still getting issue please follow steps below:
Whenever issue occurs, please provide us the error message displaying in your browser’s console and network tab.
Please check this diagnosis tutorial. With respect to which browser you are using you will fine instruction specific to each browser on how you can check the console error.

Please provide with the screenshot of Console and Network tab, it will help us find the cause for the issue. In above tutorial link, it’s mostly for finding error in console tab but you should see Network tab as well beside the console tab in same horizontal tabs menu.

    Thanks.

I assume this issue is resolved after reactivation of the plugin so, marking this thread as resolved. You can always open a new support thread if you need to.

    Thanks.
