Version 1.2.0 update failure

I just updated to WordPress 3.9, and then installed this plug-in. I immediately received a dashboard notification that this plug-in needed to be updated to Version 0.0 (???????). It says:

There is a new version of Simple Trackback Validation with Topsy Blocker available. View version 0.0 details or update now.

When I click on the “update now” link, i then get this plug-in notice::

You have version installed. Update to 0.0. View version 0.0 details.
Compatibility with WordPress 3.9: 100% (according to its author)

Regardless of how many times I try to update the plug-in, the notices remain, and my dashboard always shows that I still have this plug-in to update. Any help on this?
