After upgrading to Version 14.0.4 yesterday, the “Yoast SEO can now store your site’s SEO data in a smarter way” notice initially disappeared. It has been stuck with 4 objects still needing indexing and not completing. After a while, it reappeared. I ran it again and it looked as though it had completely started over… indexing thousands. At about halfway through, it stopped starting the process was completed. However, the “Yoast SEO can now store your site’s SEO data in a smarter way” immediately reappeared. When attempting to run again… it showed indexing 4 objects, it completes, but the “Yoast SEO can now store your site’s SEO data in a smarter way” remains… repeat, repeat, repeat. This is how it has been since the 14.0.0.

  • I have the same problem… see other ticket.
keep showing the message, even with update 14.0.4

Just wondering if you also have WPML installed by any chance?
Because I have this happen with two of my sites where WPML is installed together with the ‘Yoast SEO Multilingual’ plugin.

I do not have WPML installed.

I have the same problem with Version 14.0.4 not completing the indexing.
In my case I do have WPML installed.
On other websites with WPML not installed, I do not have the problem.

We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue with the recent release of Yoast SEO plugin, and we’d be more than happy to investigate the matter further for you.

Can you please try resetting the Yoast SEO indexables tables by using the Yoast Test Helper plugin to check whether this resolves the issue for you?

Please let us know whether the issue persists.

I have the same issue and I do have WPML installed. I tried to reset indexables, but the issue still persists. What else can I do?

@mazedulislamkhan I also tried tried the test helper, and it didn’t help …
Please check into the WPML comment, since this looks to be something in common!

I have installed the Yoast Test Helper, reset the Yoast SEO indexables tables but to no effect. Again I had to stop indexation (“Object 18573 of 1158 processed.”).
    I have WPML installed.

Reset the Yoast SEO indexables tables by using the Yoast Test Helper and same… “Speeding up your site” starts at the beginning again, processing thousands and then shows complete but the “Yoast SEO can now store your site’s SEO data in a smarter way” comes back when I return to the “Tools – Yoast SEO” page… run it again and it shows 4 object being processed… repeat, repeat, repeat and it never actually completes.

I don’t have WPML installed. So, I don’t believe that could be the common factor.

@gleysen @bari007 @mmgh If you are using WPML, we would suggest reverting to version 13.5 of the Yoast SEO plugin until WPML puts out an update for compatibility with Yoast SEO version 14.

You can revert back to the 13.5 version by downloading it and then performing a manual update of the plugin. You can download version 13.5 by performing the following steps:
    ?

After downloading the 13.5 version of the plugin, you would next need to perform a manual update of the plugin. We have instructions on how to upgrade the plugin manually at the following link: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/#ftp. You will need an FTP program such as FileZilla and your FTP details, which can be obtained from your host provider.

@tjalexander70 Does your site have a large amount of posts/pages? For sites with more than 10,000 posts, we advise using the WP CLI command to do the indexation on the server. You can read more about this here: https://yoa.st/wp-cli-index

If you are familiar with the WordPress Command Line Interface (WP-CLI) you can follow this guide the re-index: https://developer.yoast.com/blog/yoast-seo-wp-cli-index-command/. It should only take minutes this way.

For the WPML users, you can switch to each language clicking the index button, and that fixes the problem as well. (It happens because only the objects in the current language are indexed.)

@tjalexander70 Can you please confirm whether you were able to fix the issue by using the WP-CLI command as requested by @devnihil ?

@mazedulislamkhan I have no idea how to do that. I am using DreamHost’s managed WordPress hosting (DreamPress). I have no idea how to run it.

Ok… figured it out. Reached 33%, got stuck, and then received Killed message.

I did us Yoast Test Helper to Reset Indexables tables & migrations prior to running.

    @mazedulislamkhan

Took 3 times to get to complete…. however, I am still getting the “Click here to speed up your site now” and instead of 4 objects left, there are 9.

I figured it out… the issue is a conflict with the ‘Schema & Structured Data for WP & AMP’ plugin.
