  • Hi @lluca,

We’re sorry to hear that there’s a problem with indexing your site.

Could you please confirm you’re using version 14.1 of Yoast SEO? If not, does updating to the latest version solve the problem?

If the problem happens with 14.1, please feel free to send us more details.

    Sorry Luca!

Didn’t notice you mentioned 14.1! Since you’ve updated, the best thing to do is to reset the Yoast database tables and re-install Yoast SEO 14.1.

To reset the tables, install the Yoast Test Helper, then go to Tools > Yoast Test. Click “Reset indexables & migrations” to delete the tables.

You can find the steps to install or update the plugin manually here: https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/#ftp

Be sure to click the “Speed up your site now” button to re-index your pages. If you have a large site or prefer to do this from the command line, you can run the Yoast SEO WP CLI command here: https://developer.yoast.com/customization/yoast-seo/indexables-cli/

    Hope this helps!

    Priscilla,

I’m having this same issue with 14.1 installed also.

I followed the steps you listed above by installing the plugin and resetting the indexables and migrations. I downloaded a fresh copy of 14.1 premium from my account and tried to install it over the existing version. It failed saying the folder already existed.

I don’t want to lose all of my Yoast data by deleting the plugin. Your instructions didn’t mention anything about deleting anything so I wanted to ask for advice instead of guessing. To summarize… 14.1 premium is installed and I can’t do the new indexing feature. It fails every time I have tried to start the process. What’s next?

    Thanks!

    ** Update **
I followed the steps here: https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/#ftp to replace the existing files by overwriting them. Refreshed the Dashboard page and tried to process the index again. No luck, it still failed.

Awaiting your input before moving on.

    Thanks

    Hi @dms222 ,

Thanks for getting back to us. We’re sorry to hear that you’re still experiencing problems on your site. Did you reset the tables after re-installing 14.1 on your site?

To reset the tables, install the Yoast Test Helper, then go to Tools > Yoast Test. Click “Reset indexables & migrations” to delete the tables.

If the issue persists, since you are a Premium user, can you please contact us through one of the channels specified here?

    @lluca
Resetting the tables using the Yoast Test Helper plugin will reset the tables that the 14.0 release of the plugin creates: wp_yoast_indexable, wp_yoast_indexable_hierarchy, wp_yoast_migrations, wp_yoast_primary_term.

This will not cause any loss of any previous data that has been configured on your site, so it’s a safe procedure.
