Version 2.0 lags

  • Hello.
    I’m interested in buying Nextgen Gallery Pro version. But I recently updated my free NextGen gallery plugin to v. 2.0.40, and that made my blog almost unusable because of lags: page load time increased dramatically up to 10-30 seconds, and sometimes PHP script timeouts began to occur. I’m currently on the latest WP (3.8.1) version with the Twenty Fourteen theme. I tried to switch off all my plugins, and only after I switched off the NextGen gallery, the page load time returned to normal. After some investigation I found out that NextGen gallery plugin issues tons of database queries of the same kind: “SHOW COLUMNS FROM wp_posts” and these queries altogether take a lot of time to perform. Now, after I rolled back to NextGen v1.9.13, everything works fine.
    So, I have 2 questions:
    1. Is the development team aware of this issue? Is it going to be fixed in the future version of the plugin?
    2. Is it possible to buy the 1.9.13 Pro version, and update it in the future after the issue will be fixed?
