I have just updated to version 2.0.1 from 1.8.2 and found that all the previous settings for content & styles – colours, text, bar position – have been lost/ignored after the update.

I am now faced with having to re-enter every single setting AND to figure out how to get the plugin to display as I had it before – e.g. the top bar has got a bug where the Accept Text partially displays off the right of the screen (and is now on the other side of the screen to the other text) – what a pain!

Why can’t you keep the previous settings?

So I’ve reinstalled 1.8.2 – when you can release an update that does not screw up a perfectly good plugin, and create me a shed load of work after the update, I’ll consider updating. Not happy.

Hi – sorry to hear this has happened. We’re going to release an update that will use previous settings.

It would be better as well if the ‘new’ top bar looked like the ‘old’ top bar in my opinion. Having the ‘I accept’ button now on the opposite side of the screen to the notification text, when viewed on a 1920px desktop screen, is weird – I didn’t even see it at first.

    Hi

We’ve just uploaded 2.0.2 to the repository with a fix to ensure that user’s data is saved from previous versions. We’ve also added a ‘Reset’ button on the Setttings > Cookie Consent page to ensure that you can reset to previous settings. Please update and click the Reset button to restore your previous settings. Apologies for the inconvenience this update caused you.

We will also look at your suggestion of floating the accept button to the left and add this to the next update.
