• Version 2.0.21: nothing is fixed. Still high CPU usage, too many javascript conflicts (with default and other themes) – upload not working, media gallery not working, sometimes “Update” button is disabled after clicked on NGG button on edit post page, too many requests that slowdown website, too many queries, select albums on the page where you write posts is totally messed up (sometimes popup window goes outside screen after click on ngg button, album icons are totally nested) -> too many js conflicts and invalid .css property values.

    I really do not know what works when everything is broken…

  • @ebeamer i haven’t tested it yet, but each gallery got his own id
    <div id=’gallery-1‘ class=’gallery galleryid-7 gallery-columns-4 gallery-size-thumbnail’>

    you can try something like this:

    #gallery-1 img {
    width:150px; height:150px
    }

    #gallery-2 img {
    width:120px; height:10px
    }

    There is something weird here, as for me NGG 2.0.17 works pretty much ok – and I haven’t found any real replacement for NGG when you have a couple of thousand photos and 100+ galleries.

    There are a couple of things in 1.9.13 still not working that I would welcome any day
    1. NO translations available for the plugin
    2. Several hacks to NGG Photocrati themselves have promoted not working:
    – css edits do not work for me the way 2.0.17 should work – but there is a workaround for this
    – getting a gallery name/title display onto a page when you view a gallery within an album – no clue how to do this because of the structural changes to the plugin…

    I tend to think the new Pope-structure is something you really should not have in a WP plugin as it clearly complicates debugging, and tailoring the plugin far too much.

    NextGEN Gallery
    Version 2.0.21 still broken on my site.
    Gallery settings (on wpadmin panel) – empty white site (still doesn’t work)
    Gallery site (on site) empty white site (still doesn’t work)

    Version 2.0.21 change one thing – in wersion NGG 2.0.17 after opening gallery settings I have message that sesion expired and I have to login again – after login again – the same message….

    In wersion 2.0.21 I don’t have this message but only empty white site

    WordPress wersion 3.6 (doesn’t work on two different sites)

    This is ridiculous!!!!

    I have just upgraded to 2.0.21 and none of my posts are visible in the admin “All Posts” view, deactivate the plugin and they appear !!!!

    I think its about time I started looking for an alternative.

    @piszmaile Try the manual upload. Your issue seems like that some files haven’t been transferred, maybe during the process your server has gone down. Since it has become a plugin very heavy and with an high CPU usage, I always upload it via FTP, it’s the better way.
    Ideally, you should disable it before the manual upload, but you can’t so try anyway.

    @piszmaile

    If this has broken your site, try checking the size of your work_options table in your database. If it is over a couple of hundred records then you may have the same issue I did. Mine was up to 120mb in size. I now run the SQL above a few times a day to clear down the junk that ngg is dumping in there before it takes the site down.

    @duncanclarke – I have unlimited space for my Mysql database
    Database for wordpress sites (with nng) have: 3.02 MB and 32.1 MB

    @tizz – I can’t get to the gallery settings on admin panel (nng). So that problem isn’t only with upload / show photos. The settings are not showing (empty white site).
    In my gallery I have about 100 photos per site – and I don’t wont to upload it again (this is lot of work) and I don’t have guarantee that it works when I upload it again….

    In my gallery I have about 100 photos per site – and I don’t wont to upload it again

    No, I mean the plugin, not photos… a manual upload of the plugin via FTP.
    This could solve your issue, but if it doesn’t, trying isn’t harmful.

    I replaced plugin files (upload new files via FTP) latest version of NNG and nothing changed ??
    I tried on three different web browsers – nothing changed

    Check plugin/theme conflict

    No conflict could be detected
    ok Test image function

    Could create image with 2272 x 1704 pixel
    ok Check theme compatibility

    Your theme should work fine with NextGEN Gallery

    @duncanclarke, problems with wp_options table and transient was solved few versions ago (but it’s still bugged). However, such a trivial bug should not occur – for a couple of days the database grows to +300MB . It should be written in the greatest record in the history of the wordpress bugs. ??

    @piszmaile, what’s wrong with latest stable version – 1.9.13?

    It’s working perfect for me.

    I updated and now gallery widgets will not update even though it is set to random.

    I even tried doing the NextGen Gallery Pro hoping that the paid version might fix everything, but no change.

    It’s amazing how this plugin worked so well for so many years, and now it’s just turning into a big mess, especially for those of us with image heavy sites that used this one.

    I noticed that my site was noticeably slower page loading and when I tested with P3 plugin, this was definitely the culprit adding nearly 3.5 seconds to page load which is crazy. With the earlier version my page load was 1.7 seconds.

    I had no problem paying for a working plugin, but when even that has failed, it doesn’t look good. So now, I’m asking for a refund as it just doesn’t look like it will be working anytime soon.

    It was frustrating more when the customer support person told me it was one of my longtime plugins causing the problem. When I deactivated it, the problem still existed. I even deactivated all of my plugins but still the problems continued.

    Rolling back to 1.9.13

    how I can back to 1.9.13 ? from 2.0.21 ? (i don’t want to loose my gallery)

    https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/how-to-rollback-a-version/
    You don’t lose your gallery. Anyway, everyone should always have a total (files and DB) recent backup. So, if you don’t have, do it before do any other thing.

    I have unlimited space for my Mysql database

    Just a side note:
    Unlimited space doesn’t really exist – data physically occupy space on the disks, so it can’t be unlimited.
    The term “unlimited” is a providers’ promotional strategy, starting from the belief that’s difficult to fill it if they gave you a big space.
    Then, the database can also expire, some providers don’t associate the payment with server space, and although this maybe isn’t your case, isn’t harmful to confirm with your provider that you don’t have expired/ended you DB.

    @piszmaile just go here and you can find the earlier versions to download and reinstall. 1.9.13 was very successful for me and many others on here with the same issues.

    It takes you right back to when we all loved NextGen Gallery
