Version 3.0.2 output of EN Job listings does not work anymore
-
Hi,
we are using the lite version of the Plugin.
Since we updated to 3.0.2 the EN Job listings are not displayed in the Frontend anymore.
Please compare the German page /karriere/ and the EN one /en/career/
We have already tried to delete all positions an re-import them. In the log files it says that 7 positions have been important in German and in English.
For some reason when can see the German 7 listings in the Backend but those get marked as “English”.
Can you please advise? If you need more information please let me know.

Hello and thank you for the question.
Multilingualism with WPML is only fully supported with the paid Pro version of our plugin. Unfortunately, I can’t reproduce the problem with the light version either. For a more detailed analysis, it would be interesting to know how WPML is configured. Could you please provide the debug info of WPML as described here: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/ ? Then a deeper analysis would be possible.
Hi,
Many thanks for the quick response.
Before the update to 3.0.2, DE and EN worked perfectly with the Lite version only. Is this possibly different now? Please find attached the log data from WPML:

I hope it helps.
What we have also noticed and find strange:
In the backend of the old version, EN and GER are displayed in the “Languages” column. In the updated version it only says “English” but the German texts are pulled from Personio. The language specifications for the positions in the backend are indeed incomplete. I have already prepared a correction for this in the development environment. As we are currently checking other feedback, I would provide this as an update next week.
Unfortunately, the WPML information does not help me. Please use the possibilities of the block editor in the forum here to post code, see: https://www.ads-software.com/support/forum-user-guide/block-editor/#code-block – for me the problem is still not reproducible, but it may be that it is related to the above problem, so please wait for the next update.
Please update to the recently released version 3.0.3 and then re-import the jobs. Please let us know if it works for you now.
Hi there,
many thanks for the update. In the Backend everything seems to be working finde now.
5 Positions are being imported and those get marked as available in German and English. Perfect!
In the frontend it is not working 100% at the moment. Even though the corrrect EN positions are being displayed on the /en/career/ when you click on the detail page you get an 404 Error.
Could this be the incompatibility of the Lite version with WPML?
However, it did work before we updated to version 3.
However, I also found a discrepancy on the Personio site. Could that also be the reason?
If you go to https://iocto.jobs.personio.com/?language=en you get the German translations of the positions. Which is not correct from my point of view. Playing around with the language selector on this page only changes the language of the Personio UI and not the title of the Positions for example.
When you go to a detail page of a position you get an additional language selector to switch the display language. Please compare here https://iocto.jobs.personio.com/job/1418760?language=en&display=de
Is it possible that there is some kind of mix up already on the Personio site, which needs to be fixed?
Many thanks in advance
FabianBecause of the 404 problem: go to General > Permalinks in the backend and save them again. Does it work then?
The anomaly on the Personio website has nothing to do with this. Our plugin accesses the XML interface and the texts there are in the correct language (English for English, German for German). However, I can see, for example, that the title of the job with the Personio ID 1444523 is “Copy of Engineer …” in English – a question of content maintenance there.
If you are experiencing problems with the Personio website, please contact Personio support: https://support.personio.de
Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem.
I have compared the behavior of our live site, where we have not yet made the update, with our staging system.
There is a difference in the handling of the URL slugs:
Live page:
DE:
https://iocto.com/stelle/elektrokonstrukteur-elektroplaner-eplan-p8-m-w-d-in-teil-oder-vollzeit/
EN:
https://iocto.com/en/stelle/elektrokonstrukteur-elektroplaner-eplan-p8-m-w-d-in-teil-oder-vollzeit/Staging System:
DE: https://iocto.com/stelle/elektrokonstrukteur-elektroplaner-eplan-p8-m-w-d-in-teil-oder-vollzeit/EN: https://iocto.com/position/elektrokonstrukteur-elektroplaner-eplan-p8-m-w-d-in-teil-oder-vollzeit/
Differences:
There is no /en in front of it and it seems that “stelle” is now translated as “position”.
This URL is not found and the system tries to switch to the DE URL. This does not work either, because we should actually be in /en and we get a 404 error.
I have already checked if WPML tries to translate /stelle with /position.
But that is not the case. I even manually adjusted the EN translation to /stelle to make it consistent with the live site. However, this does not work and it still remains at /positionDo you have another possible solution?
Thanks

Unfortunately, I can’t help at this point. My guess would be a WPML setting that could be missing here. We only offer full support for WPML in the Pro version of our plugin. There the linking in the different languages works without any problems.
