Version 3.4 causes hard crash of site

  • I received an email from my site during an auto update indicating that Social Media Auto Publish had caused a technical issue on my site. I had to enter Recovery Mode to fix it, by disabling the plugin.

    The following is the error message:

    Error Details

    An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 1956 of the file /wp-content/plugins/social-media-auto-publish/admin/publish.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’, expecting ‘)’

    If I attempt to manually reactivate the plugin, I receive the following error message.

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a?fatal error.

    Apologies for the issue. We’ve fixed this in v3.4.1—please update the plugin to resolve the error. If the issue persists, try clearing your cache and reactivating. Let us know if you need further help!

    • Fixed a critical issue that caused errors in certain cases when connecting to Telegram

    I’m not sure why this is the description of the fix, as I have never used Telegram in my life. I really hope it fixes the actual issue.
