Version 6.8.0 breaks TranslatePress version of website

I understand the Stripe Payment gateway new version 6.8.0 is affecting the TranslatePress integration on your site. Sorry to hear about that.

To check better into this, please share a copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.?

That’s some good troubleshooting from your end. May I recommend using this plugin instead of TranslatePress?

Also, TranslatePress has pushed an update to their plugin 6 days ago. Have you reached out to them regarding this?

@babylon1999 – I updated the plugins on Wednesday, 10/5. We have the most up-to-date TranslatePress plugin. Multilingual is version 2.3.8 and the Developer plugin is 1.2.2. We are highly integrated into TranslatePress across multiple websites and we aren’t interested in a different translation plugin.

I started this issue with TranslatePress. When I deactivate Woocommerce Stripe plugin TranslatePress then works. And since the Stripe plugin has errors in the error logs then they say it is the Stripe plugin causing the issue. They say I need to work with you all. They also say that haven’t had any other reported issues.

I’m a bit stuck between 2 plugins that aren’t working together and I’m going to need a bit of direction as to solve this. Thank you.

In this case, please run a conflict test, you can follow these instructions below:

• Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
• Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce, TranslatePress, and Stripe Payment Gateway
• Repeat the action that is causing the problem

At this point check if the issue is still present, if not, it means there was a conflict, and you can reactivate the theme and plugins gradually one by one and check again after each reactivation until the cause of the issue is found.

If you would not like to touch the live site, you can run the test using a staging environment, you can use this plugin: WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

I performed the following.
1. Switched theme to 2022
2. Disabled ALL plugins. Reactivated Woo, TranslatePress, and Stripe Payment Gateway.
3. Repeated the action to look at the Spanish version of the site and it shows a 500 error again.

As soon as I deactivate the Stripe Payment Gateway, I can view the Spanish version of the website.

I have found the exact same issue with the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin. When activated, I get 500 error on /zh and /ja translations. When deactivated, it goes away and I can access those translations.

@peakwebsites – I didn’t have time to mess with this plugin anymore…as it had been a week and my client needed an answer right away. We switched to the Payment plugins for Stripe Woocommerce (similar name but different plugin) and haven’t had any issues since the switch. So, if you want a quick fix…that works. If not, you’ll need to wait for this plugin’s support to come up with a patch.

We had the same issue. This is not an issue of the stripe plugin. It is an issue of the translate press plugin. It started to translate email and plugins in his latest version. The problem is that it translates as well variables 1%s (sprintf()) especially in latin languages it removes the ‘s’ from 1%. that makes the plugin fail in php >8.x (not in php 7.4) Unfortunate we are still waiting on a fix from translatepress. If you downgrade translate press the site will not break anymore. if you downgrade php to 7.4 it will not break but the variable will still not work. Hope that helps a bit to understand the real source of the issue.
