Version 8.00+ redirects albums to main page

  • Hi,

    On one of the sites we administer we use a lot of albums. The main album is shown per [wppa] shortcode.

    Using wppa version 7.7.07.008, (as it is now), all runs fine. The albums are clickable, and the content is ajax’ed in the container.

    Using WPPA version 8.0.10.006, or 8.0.7 etc., it does not work. The top albums are shown, but clicking on any shows the same mainpage in the container (droste effect). We see a redirect in the ajax calls:

    starting on the /fotos page, clicking will call the following Ajax url:

    /wppaajax?action=wppa&wppa-action=render&wppa-size=640&wppa-occur=1&wppa-fromp=227&lang=nl&wppa-album=fotos-2019&wppa-cover=0&wppa-occur=1&lang=nl&resp=1

    redirects 301 to

    /wppaajax/?action=wppa&wppa-action=render&wppa-size=640&wppa-occur=1&wppa-fromp=227&lang=nl&wppa-album=fotos-2019&wppa-cover=0&wppa-occur=1&lang=nl&resp=1

    which redirects 302 (?) to

    /fotos

    The live site now runs version 7 again. If needed, we can use version 8 in a staging site.

    Any idea how this could happen?

    Try a different setting for Advanced settings -> System -> I -> Item 5 Ajax method

    That seems to work, but now the colors are off. In our main album we used to have blue and green sub albums (as you can see in https://camps4kids.nl/fotos/) , but these are now all grey. We’ll look into that ourselves, if there isn’t some option you know that just needs to be fixed.
