Version numbers out of sync

    Hi There

    Thanks for the great plugin!

    It may just be me but it looks like the plugin version is out of sync with the changelog version and that for the past few updates the changelog doesn’t seem to have actually reflected changes made.

    While I appreciate the plugin, correcting this would greatly improve things for those of us who like (and often need) to know what’s going on with plugin updates.

    Good plugin changelogs are a very beautiful thing, like rainbows and Christmas morning.

    I will not speak in place of ice00, but what did you mean exactly by ‘out of sync’? (I’m not certain to have understood perfectly what you said)

    According to https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/newstatpress/changelog/the plugin version is 0.9.2, however the most recent changelog entry is labelled 0.1.0.

    I may be wrong but I think the convention is to use the plugin version number for the changelog entry which describes that version update.

    Also, I’m pretty sure the changelog hasn’t recorded any changes for the last couple of updates.

    First, If you go down you will a lot of changes since the 0.1.0
    Anyway, we are changing the order of the entries in aim to see first last changes!
    Stay tuned for the last update ??

    Haha – thanks lechab! Now I see the top of the changelog is actually the bottom. Looking forward to the more conventional layout! Nice work ??

    Hi Bob33,

    Thank for the link, I will give look on it. I’m agree that is something very important and I try to be careful at this aspect. Did you not appreciate the reverse of the changelog for example?
    To give you an idea, just that was almost an half hour of work. So you can imagine when you’re alone (I speak of ice00) that between the coding, documenting, publishing, making support… it’s not easy to manage everything right, especially when people look mainly for news ??
    There is a lot of things to do and it’s really hard to stay focus in everything. We try to making our best. If you think you can help, you can contribute. In the meantime you can support us reporting bugs, make/update translation or making donation.

    Hi cHab – I see that upgraded changelog – much appreciated!

    In fact I posted the link for general consumption (and should have made that clearer) rather than for you specifically! I thought it was interesting that the topic should come up on wptavern.

    I can certainly appreciate what it’s like to be working solo on a big project and take my hat off to you & ice00 for making this plugin available for the WP community.

    Keep up the good work (but don’t forget to take a well-earned break now and then ??
