    Dear all,
the version of the plugin with GDPR compliance integrated has now been synced with the original plugin. So the version is now 1.9. See: https://github.com/mennowo/email-download-link.
Note that I lost my existing links during upgrading, I’m not sure if this can be avoided; maybe just copy all files over the originals in the folder on the server?
    Anyway, enjoy!

Hi Menno, where can i find this line? “I agree with the privacy conditions *”so i can translate it?
Works perfectly! thank you for youre effort.

Already found it! The plugin is updates, is there a way to keep the GPDR after updating?

    Hey Evert,
unfortunately, there is no way to just update, it will overwrite the GDPR-version with the version of the plugin without. I asked the developer (gopi) to integrate this a while back, but got no reply.
I’d have to submit the altered plugin as a new plugin to the WordPress plugin repository to allow for automated updates. I am unsure if the used licensing allows for that. Also I have little time currently to do this.
For now, I just leave the plugin un-updated. After I changed to 1.9 I had to remake all my links. That was quite tedious…

    Hi All,

Please use plugin version 2.1. Option added to NOT SAVE name and email address. This will be useful those who don’t want to save their downloader name and email. Save downloader name/email option at plugin setting page. This option is useful for GDPR privacy policy.

    Hey @gopiplus
Thanks for this option, it is indeed useful.
However, the thing is that I often do indeed wish to save name&email-address, however, with GDPR it is obligatory to get consent for this from the person filling in their data. This is why I added that option, with a customizable link to some page outlining the privacy policy.
You can easily view my additions via Github; they are non-intrusive and leave all other functionality untouched and unaltered. It would be nice if this could be integrated into the official version.
    Thanks again, greets, Menno

Thanks @mennowo, your version meets what I need. I think @gopiplus should adopt both approaches, a dont store and a consent to store. I have been tasked with storing data and ensuring I get consent.

@mennowo, can you check if your “Privacy conditions” URL code is working. I didnt have this set to a URL and the checkbox was still displayed. I set it to a privacy page I have created but it didnt go to this URL.

    Hey @jb0591
The link works fine for me, do note that you need a full httt(s):// link, not just a shortcode of a page or so.
I have tested filling in a blank field, but if it does not work well, feel free to propose changes via a PR in Github (if you can). I’m afraid I will not soon find time to look deeper into the matter, as I am not so well acquainted with php, because of which this takes quite some time for me.
@evertruisch also uses my version, he never mentioned any problem.

@mennowo. Thanks I thought it was because I was using HTTP but my real site is in preperation and using HTTPS but still the issue. I also have the issue where Google reCaptcha page doesnt load. I have tried to disable all other plugins etc but no luck.

If i use the latest version 2.4 then it loads correctly.

@gopiplus, I really thing a combination of your latest with the small mod from mennowo is needed. This gives the best of both worlds.

Plugin version 2.5 will be published tonight. Please try. Added separate section for GDPR checkbox. and the name/email will be saved based on the users choice.

    @gopiplus many thanks much appreciated.

Thank you very well. I think there is a little bug.
Am I right if I say the GPDR description is missing?
